There is hardly a thing that we can do make our ceilings attractive. There is not much for breaking the boring plainness of our ceilings. The only thing that can make looking up interesting is a chandelier. Chandeliers have been in use for many centuries earlier serving the purpose of a candelabra. But the chandelier has undergone many transformations and we have now different types of chandeliers including the industrial chandelier.
What Is A Chandelier
A chandelier is a decorative piece that hangs down from the ceiling to hold many light holders. These holders are usually found in different tiers, though the designs are changing nowadays. These lamps are used for ambient lighting than for illuminating the room.
A chandelier is differentiated from a hanging lamp or pendant lamp in that a chandelier has multiple lamps. But the difference is also getting blurred as elaborate, large hanging lamps with one holder are also called chandeliers.
An Industrial Chandelier Can Make Dining More Pleasant
Chandeliers are mainly used over the dining table. This is the traditional method. However, they are also being now used in other places. Large living rooms are made more attractive with the use of chandeliers in the middle. You must be able to pick up the right kind of chandelier for your room.
Chandeliers are classified into different types based on their construction, finish, etc. There are modern chandeliers, contemporary chandeliers, Rustic chandeliers, Farmhouse chandeliers, and industrial chandeliers.
An industrial chandelier is one that brings to mind lighting that may be used in a factory or industry. It has exposed bulbs. There are wooden or metal pieces joined together. There is hardly any decoration in this kind of chandelier.
Chandeliers are also classified on the basis of their shapes like rectangular, bowl, cluster, Sputnik, caged, globe and beaded. You can buy these chandeliers in different finishes like brass, bronze, gold, and chrome.
There are two types based on their function. The upright chandelier has light focused on the ceiling and this only provides ambient lighting. The downright chandelier has light focused downwards and provides direct lighting to do your work.

Installing The Chandelier
When you are installing the industrial chandelier, you must keep some things in mind. The best place to install the chandelier is in the middle of the room. The chandelier can be enjoyed from anywhere in the room is placed in the center. If you hang it in the center the ambient light will be spread evenly all over the room. Placing it in the center will also provide a visual balance.
The chandelier should be hung at around thirty inches above the surface of the dining table. This will prevent the light from shining on the diners’ eyes. This height will allow people to see each other comfortably. If the ceiling is of much height you can raise the chandelier accordingly. The general rule is to add about three inches for every extra foot of height.
When you are hanging the industrial chandelier, it is better to consider some other lighting source for the main lighting of the room and use the chandelier only as ambient lighting. If you are using the chandelier as the main source then you must consult the recommendations for lighting of each type of room.
